South Northamptonshire has something for all ages and interests…

…from Sulgrave Manor, the ancestral home of George Washington and the beautiful landscaped gardens of Castle Ashby, to the excitement of horse racing at Towcester Racecourse and motor racing at Silverstone.

As well as the lovely old market towns of Brackley and Towcester, the district also has many square miles of beautiful unspoilt countryside and woodland, with well-signed trails for walking, cycling and horse-riding, canal-side towpath walks, golf courses and a breath-taking tree-top walk at Salcey Forest.

With its central location in Northamptonshire, the neighbouring counties of Warwickshire, Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire are easily accessed. The area also makes a great base from which to explore further afield. The Cotswolds and Shakespeare country, Bletchley Park, home to the code breaking heroes of World War Two and the world-renowned designer shopping outlet at Bicester Village, are all within easy reach.

Further north into Northamptonshire, Althorp, the family home of Princess Diana, and Rockingham Castle are just two of the many stately homes and castles worth visiting. Northamptonshire itself has lots to see and do, including 78 Derngate, the only house outside Scotland designed by Charles Rennie Mackintosh, the shoe collection at Northampton Museum and Art Gallery and the Royal and Derngate Theatres.
